Make History with Us
The National Slave Ship Museum will chronicle the history of the Atlantic slave trade from its beginnings in the 15th century and follow its consequences and continuing repercussions into the 21st century.
Ground-breaking for construction of the museum is scheduled for 2015. With the help and support of friends around the world the National Slave Ship Museum will achieve its fundraising goal of $200,000,000. We have planned a grand opening date of 2018, the tri-centennial of the founding of the City of New Orleans. As a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, all contributions to the National Slave Ship Museum are tax deductible.
